More 2019 Fun

Ethan’s Surgery
Ethan had to have surgery to get tubes in and his adenoids and tonsils out. He did a great job and wasn’t afraid at all at the hospital! He also seemed like he was feeling great when he came home to recover. He LOVED that he got to eat all the ice cream and popsicles he wanted. There were a few rough nights where he was up every 30 min – an hour in pain and that was hard, but overall the 2 week recovery went better than expected. Ethan got a stuffed bear from the hospital that he loves and still sleeps with. We thought the hardest thing about the recovery would be that Ethan couldn’t be active at all for 2 weeks and he is a VERY active and busy kid. He did great though. We read books, watched movies, played legos, and did lots of sticker books and magic painting books together.

Cooking with the Kids
The boys all love to cook and I love cooking with them. Logan has started to love cooking too, which is fun, but messy and challenging! He loves to mix, put things in, and make a mess eating the batter of whatever we are making..

Ethan’s Birthday
Ethan decided to have an Animal Mechanicals themed birthday party this year because that’s his favorite show. Chad made him a piñata of his favorite character. Making piñatas for the kid’s birthdays has become a new tradition for Chad and it’s a lot of fun. He is great at it! Chad and I also made an animal mechanicals cake. It was a fun party with all his friends.

Mason’s Birthday
Mason is in LOVE with Pokemon right now so he had a pokemon birthday party. True to tradition Chad made him a sweet Pikachu piñata and we made him pokeball cupcakes. We also made pokeball pizzas. The kids had a lot of fun playing outside and getting candy from the piñata.

Lego Playground with Ethan
Ethan and I love to play duplo legos together (especially the first half of 2019). Here are some fun pictures of a lego playground we created all from scratch. I love this special time I have with Ethan! He is very creative!

1st grade Rodeo
Mason’s amazing teacher Mrs. Crockett is a real cow girl and decided to put on a rodeo for the first graders at the end of the school year! She set up a fun rodeo field day with probably 20 different stations with all kids of rodeo races, horse grooming, pretend bull roping…She even made every kid their very own stick horse and they had a bbq lunch with the most amazing baked beans I have ever tasted (made by Mrs. Crockett’s dad. I volunteered for the morning and it was a lot of fun!

Fishing at the Park
We tried fishing in the pond at the park this summer. We did it a few summers ago and caught lots of fish (catch and release). We didn’t catch anything this time and didn’t really even get any fish to bit, but the kids still had fun running around and Logan had fun trying to carry the tackle box.

Golfing with Chad
Chad took the boys golfing. They loved riding on the golf cart and practicing their swings.
