Halloween 2019
We started our Halloween season celebrations with carving pumpkins. Mason and Ethan didn't want to get their hands dirty so they wore gloves at first. lol. Logan on the other hand LOVED playing in the pumpkin guts. He carried around the whole bowl full of it and was so sad when he couldn't bring it in the house. I wish I had gotten a picture of that! This year we made Harry Potter pumpkins and I attempted a soccer ball, but it didn't work out too well. We had a lot of fun though and the boys were so excited to see their pumpkins with the candles inside.
Then the Friday before Halloween we went to the "Spooktacular" at the park, which is basically trick or treating at different businesses' booths. It was fun and the kids got a TON of candy. Both boys wanted to be the pokemon Greninja for Halloween so I made their costumes. We tried to have Logan be a runner, but he took his whole costume off right away.
The Farmstead Pumpkin Patch
Linda drove down to do a freezer meal class with me in Boise (which we both had so much fun doing and loved!), and while she was here we took the kids to the Farmstead Pumpkin Patch in Boise. It was so much fun! There was a lot to do! We went on a hayride to the pumpkin patch and picked out pumpkins. They had all different colors which was fun - green, grey, black, yellow, orange, white. There was also a zipline, really high slides that the kids went down on sitting on potato sacks, cannons you could shoot apples out of at targets, big corn pips, a huge bouncy area, a bowling - type game, a tractor that pulled these little "cow cars" on a ride behind it, a haunted house...There weren't really any lines when we went either so the kids got to do all the things they loved over and over again. Even Logan did and loved the zip line and big slide and wanted to do them again and again. When he got off he tried to run right back to the front of the line to get right on again. :)
Making Graham Cracker Halloween Houses
Calvin and the boys made cute Graham cracker candy Halloween houses!
Ethan's Pumpkin Patch Field Trip
Logan and I had a good time at Ethan's pumpkin patch field trip - hayride, picking pumpkins, corn maze, HUGE tower of hay to climb up and then mattresses covered in hay to jump on, all kinds of "sand" boxes, but with different kinds of grain like wheat, corn...can't remember the other 3 kinds. We spent most of the time with Ethan's best preschool friend Brayden and had a lot of fun.
